BIOTECanada is pleased to offer a subsidy to support small businesses to attend select international events that focus on business-to-business opportunities. Specifically, BIOTECanada may cover a portion of travel expenses for a limited number of Canadian businesses attending key events.
BIOTECanada annually applies for additional funding support for through the CanExport Associations program by Global Affairs Canada. When approved, these funds contribute to BIOTECanada’s BD fund. In general, BIOTECanada is pleased to provide subsidies to Canadian biotech companies travelling to:
-San Francisco in January for BD activities surrounding Biotech Showcase and JP Morgan Healthcare conferences
-US in June for BD activities surrounding the BIO International Convention
-Europe in Oct/Nov for BD activities surrounding BIO-Europe
Program Eligibility:
1. You must be a small to medium size biotech company
2. You may not have received a subsidy through BIOTECanada already in the calendar year
3. You will be required to submit a brief report outlining the success of your activity/meetings (no proprietary information will be requested), as well as some additional documentation (registration invoice)
4. You must attend a brief networking opportunity with BIOTECanada that occurs prior or alongside the main convention or conference
Funds will be made available to qualifying companies following the main event and collection of reporting and documentation. The program is limited in number of companies per targeted event.
